Senior Database Developer
Overview
We seek to employ an experienced database developer to join our highly talented and agile development team that remains focused on building and maintaining a state-of-the-art flood insurance policy processing and claims administration system. The software is delivered via a web-based ‘Service Oriented Architecture’ model. Core responsibilities of the position include overall database architecture and design, implementation as well as database performance analysis and tuning along with supervisory duties. Areas of Responsibility
- Successful candidate will be contributing to the development and maintenance of our-backend online system which support multiple front-end websites, applications, and APIs
- Stored procedure programming and tuning
- Data architecture for new and existing applications
- Database refactoring, reengineering and structural improvement
- Performance tuning
- 3rd-party data integration
- Data warehousing and ad hoc reportingg
- Supervisory duties of DBA team
Technical Qualifications
- 5+ years development experience in relational database development
- 3-5 years in supervisory role
- Experienced in relational database design, logical and physical data modeling
- Experience developing and tuning stored procedures, triggers, and views using established coding conventions
- Solid knowledge of database architecture and design / relational database concepts Expertise developing Transact-SQL code in a Microsoft SQL Server development environment
- Knowledge of relational database modeling tools experience developing in: ASP.NET, C#, ASP, JavaScript
- Demonstrated knowledge of Agile development methodologies • Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Insurance industry experience a strong plus
- BS in Computer Science or related engineering discipline or commensurate professional experience
