Company Structure
Torrent is comprised of two primary business units: Torrent Government Contracting Services, LLC (TGCS) located just outside Washington, D.C., and Torrent Insurance Services, LLC (TIS) located in Kalispell, Montana. Both are wholly-owned subsidiaries of parent, Torrent Technologies, Inc. based in Seattle, Washington. Torrent was founded on the principal of developing a platform and conceptual model that would leverage our technology, infrastructure, personnel and industry knowledge to expand into other market verticals. The TorrentFlood® platform combined with Torrent’s leading operations and technology team and infrastructure have set the stage for Torrent’s continue expansion into other lines that are desperately seeking the same modern technology solutions, deep industry experience and unparalleled service that Torrent brings to today’s landscape with TIS and TGCS.
Torrent Insurance Services, LLC - TIS was Torrent’s first business unit and is initially focused on providing flood vendor services to insurance carriers that participate in FEMA’s ‘Write You Own’ Program. Backed by flagship product, TorrentFlood®, TIS has gained rapid market acceptance and is quickly becoming one of the Nation’s premier providers of flood vendor services. While TIS will continue on the path of becoming the leading flood vendor in the NFIP, we expect to begin expanding this business unit into other, similar lines at the direction of our clients.
Torrent Government Contracting Services, LLC - TGCS was formed in 2008 to support a FEMA contract that was awarded to Torrent and its business partners which supports the NFIP. Torrent’s role for this particular contract is to provide flood insurance underwriting support to FEMA and is headed-up by industry veteran Tyrone Gregory, formally with EDS’s flood vendor operation. Torrent plans to use this business unit to pursue other related government contracts both at the state and federal levels.
